De HP telg in de subnotebookmarkt wordt de HP 2133
Mini-note. De 2133 is te krijgen in
4 verschillende smaken maar ik zal hier gezien de prijs/prestatie
verhouding het 2e model in de serie behandelen.
Hoewel ook deze in zeker zin ook voortkomt uit de
Asus EEE revolutie is dit toch de een subnotebook die intern meer weg heeft
van de PB Easynote XS dan van de Asus EEE.
Het kloppend hart van de de 2133 Mini-note is net
als de PB Easynote XS een 1,2 GHz Via C7-M
ULV processor. Het 8,9 inch scherm met een resolutie van 1280x768 is
behoorlijk goed te noemen voor dit formaat. Ook claimt HP dat er een
toetsenbord in zit dat slechts 8% afwijkt van de normale grote, wat uiterst
ruim te noemen is gezien toch veel andere subnotebook gebruikers klagen over
de te kleine toetsenborden, dit grotere toetsenbord brengt wel met zich mee
dat ook de totale grote van de laptop net iets ruimer is dan van
bijvoorbeeld de MSI WIND of Asus EEE 900. Hier staat tegenover dat de frame
van aluminium gemaakt is wat de laptop uitermate stevig maakt.
De prestaties
van de VIA processor zijn wel minder dan van een processor van Intel makelij
maar de VIA C7 is wel zeer zuinig wat de accuduur ten goede zou moeten komen.
Helaas blijkt uit de
specificaties van HP dat de accuduur van de standaard meegeleverde
3-cell (28 WHr) Li-Ion accu slechts 2 uur en 15 minuten te zijn. Er is ook
een 6-cell accu beschikbaar met beduidend meer capaciteit en een duur van 4
uur en 30 minuten, maar deze word alleen standaard geleverd bij de duurdere
modellen vanaf 749 dollar. Verder is
de HP uitgerust met een 1,3 megapixel webcam en een normale hardeschijf van
120 GB en 1 GB DDR-667 RAM geheugen. De HP 2133 is leverbaar met Linux SUSE
besturingsysteem alswel met Windows Vista en de Windows XP downgrade.
